2013

One of my new year's resolutions is to be creative more regularly which includes lots of cards. So here's my first card of 2013 with my new year's motto: GO BOLDLY.

Unfortunately the Paper Smooches sentiment stamp didn't work too well (there's no separation of the letters d & L leaving a big ugly blotch in the middle) which led to my rough, childish copy of it. I think it works ok though.

I hope your 2013 is going well so far!

be yourself

It's been a while since I entered a challenge, so when Lawnscaping came up with this:

I thought it would be a good opportunity to finally play with some of Lawn Fawn's adorable stamps like the fabulous gnome and mushroom, as well as breaking out Lawn Fawn's happy 'Bright Side' paper collection! I took inspiration from this illustrated quote I found on Pinterest by the great Oscar Wilde: Be yourself, everyone else is taken. I used Claire's & Quinn's ABCs to stamp out the quote. Everything except for the star and mushroom are paper pieced using Lawn Fawn's gorgeous paper (the speckled pink paper is my favourite). The rest was coloured with copics.

It took me ages especially all those letters...but I really enjoyed making this card :)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

cards

Wow, it's been ages since I updated this blog! I haven't had much time to make cards which is a shame. It's definitely something I'm wanting to do more regularly. I'm thinking of making a card at least once a week. That way I'm hoping I can stretch my creative muscles and complete a card in less time. On average a card can take me up to 3 hours. I'm still very slow!

I made these two birthday cards using Basic Grey's gorgeous 'Konnichiwa' line. Aren't the chipboard stickers sweet? Besides being a paper hoarder, I'm a huge chipboard hoarder too...I hope to make more cards with my chipboard stash...

I made my mum a Mother's Day card using the Paper Made Bakery's Portobello Road kit and Paper Smooch's cute cameo stamp from 'Pretty Momma'.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon with another card or two! :)

yay

My toasty Valentine's Day card won the Lawnscaping Challenge #27! I am so honoured to be picked as Queen of the Green amongst such talent! :D Thanks so much to Lawnscaping. I appreciate all the lovely comments I received for my card too. Each and every one makes my day!

It's my first challenge win ever. I am very encouraged and inspired :)

Thanks for visiting and hope you're having an awesome weekend. I'm going to see Roxette in concert tonight. I was a huge fan in the 80s and 90s and reminiscing over their fantastic songs lately, I still am a fan :)

toasty

It's been a while since I participated in a challenge, so when Lawnscaping came up with this Valentine's Day one, I thought I'd give it a shot:

I love the red, white, pink and cream in the inspiration photo and created this:

I went for something whimsical: a toast on a tyre swing and rolling hills of pink. I thought of the line: 'You make my heart sing' and thought, why not: 'You make my heart swing' hehe :)

I am also entering this card into the CAS-ual Fridays paper piecing challenge:

Thanks for stopping by! :)

CNY

Gong Xi Fa Cai! Happy Lunar New Year! May the Year of the Dragon bring you many blessings!

I am a Dragon! :)

Tonight I'm having steamboat with my family. I made these paper dolls - stamped from My Cute Stamps, coloured with copics and paper pieced with Basic Grey's 'Lauderdale'.

Then I popped them up with dimensionals on these simple red packets (ang pow) I created. It is no fun having to give money (instead of once receiving it) but I had fun doing this!

Until next time, thanks for visiting :)

cards

Hey there, remember me? ;) I hope 2012 is treating you well!

This blog has been sorely neglected, but it's one of my resolutions to post in it more regularly which means cardmaking more regularly too. I also want to start some scrapbooking especially to preserve some memories of my rapidly growing and ever changing boys as well as being able to keep the majority of my pretty supplies ;)

In other papercrafting news, I subscribed to the awesome Studio Calico monthly kit and all the gorgeous pieces you get in those bags are inspiring! I have yet to make a dent in any kit. I've only nibbled at a few...

Here's a mini card I made. Lawn fawn has the cutest images:

Here's a few of the many Christmas cards I made:

And here's another card I made for my sister for her birthday :) I used Jennifer McGuire's chevron technique and Crate Paper's lovely 'Paper Heart' collection. It took me ages, but I like the result. The cute bear is from Paper Smooches :)

I hope all these cards will somewhat make up for my absence ;) Thanks for stopping by, I'll post again soon...:)
